The Flu, and Hip Pain

It's been a pretty rotten weekend. On Saturday, we travelled to Cornell and I was to race the 3000. I was really hoping to hit the PSAC qualifier in that, but I ended up not racing due to pain in my hip.

The pain started about 2 weeks ago. The majority of it has been in the upper inside of my right thigh, and some pain (not quite pain, or tightness, but maybe weakness accompanied by a little pain) in the front of my groin. I kept training through it, thinking it was just a hip flexer problem. I even raced through it at Bucknell, where I felt the pain during the warm up and cool down, but not during the race at all. It's gotten worse since though.

I've even backed off of training since Wednesday and have barely done any running since. Taking it easy hasn't made much of a difference. When I walk, the pain level still gets up to about a 3 sometimes, which is ridiculous because I'm not even running.

I've been going to the trainers and doing stim and heating, but nothing has helped. Today, I was to go in and start deep tissue massage (which I hear hurts like hell), but I now have the flu and won't be leaving the apartment for probably another day.

I am really starting to wonder if this is a stress fracture of the femur. Gosh, do I really have to start this again...
